For the sake of your health... Stop The Snoring!

Release Date: June 2007

National Stop Snoring week is approaching (23-28 April) and according to research conducted by Snoreeze, the UK’s leading snoring solution, there are 20 million adult snorers [1] in the UK alone. Few people actually realise that snoring can have serious health implications for the snorer’s partner. Recent studies have linked a lack of sleep with a poor immune system, making people more receptive to colds, flu, hypertension, diabetes and obesity [2].

Research suggests a good night’s sleep can even make us thinner, as it is thought that restricted sleep stimulates the hunger hormone ghrelin [3], making us crave high-calorie foods so we in turn put on weight. Additionally, a six-year Greek study found that those who took a 30-minute siesta at least three times a week had a 37% lower risk of heart-related death [4].

But many Britons are losing out on necessary sleep due to a partner’s continual snoring noises – which can reach up to 93 decibels, louder than a passing train [5]. In the USA, lack of sleep is classed as a “lifestyle disorder” and is called “volitional chronic sleep deprivation” [6]. This chronic sleep deprivation is being blamed for weakening a person’s immune system, disrupting hormones, and dramatically affecting our appetite and weight.

Jessica Alexander from The Sleep Council comments: “Here at The Sleep Council, we truly believe that a good night’s sleep is vital to health and wellbeing. Unfortunately a lot of people are having their sleep disrupted night after night by their partner’s snoring and many of them don’t realise that snoring is not just an irritation for them; it can have potentially serious health implications for the snorer too. So anything that can provide relief must be welcomed by both parties.”

Natural breathing can make our throat tissues vibrate when we sleep, which causes that all too familiar snoring noise. The Snoreeze formula is a blend of micro-encapsulated ingredients which are released gradually through the night, continuously lubricating the airways so a peaceful night’s sleep can be enjoyed.

Snoreeze Throat Spray should be sprayed three times to the back of the throat before bed, ensuring the tissues are actively lubricated to reduce the vibrations.

Snoreeze Oral Strips are unique, discreet and easy to use. The strips dissolve within 20 seconds but continue to lubricate the throat tissues throughout the night.

Snoring can also be caused by congestion in the nasal passages, which can limit airflow through the nose. Snoreeze Nasal Spray helps reduce or eliminate nasal snoring by actively lubricating the nasal passages.

The Snoreeze range can provide this much-needed relief allowing Britons to get a good night’s sleep.
